Wooden nautical compass
REF: H41 Wooden Compass
The first testimonies concerning the use of the nautical needle by Mediterranean navigators date from the 12th century, however, it is presumed that it must have been in use for a long time before that.
This compass supports a compass rose and is provided with an external ring divided into 32 parts, which correspond to the names of the winds that coincide with each one of the courses (each one equivalent to 11.25º).
